Each year hundreds of female Humpback Whales congregate to nurse their calves in a large sandy basin called Hervey Bay. It's been said that if you anchor your boat in this bay, mothers will intentionally move their calves towards the boats for the young whales to learn about them. We plan to spend a little while anchored in this area and show as much of this phenomenon as we can get on film without disturbing the whales.
